Terms of Use
Rules for using the startovne.online service.
1. What is startovne.online
Startovne.online is a web application that connects paragliding pilots with launch site operators (paragliding clubs) and enables online payment of launch fees via QR codes. The service operator is XC platform s.r.o.. A detailed description of how it works can be found in the FAQ.
2. Relationships between parties
For the avoidance of doubt:
- A contractual relationship on payment of launch fees arises between the pilot and the relevant club. The operator is not a party to this relationship.
- The operator is a technical intermediary — it provides only a tool for generating payment details, recording flights and matching payments.
- Money for launch fees goes directly to the club's bank account. The operator never has control over it and does not take it into custody.
3. Registration and user account
- Login is exclusively via XContest (OAuth). To use the service, you must have an active account on xcontest.org.
- The user is responsible for the accuracy and currency of the information in their XContest profile (in particular the pilot licence number, based on which membership in Svaz PG/ZL is verified and thus the entitlement to member prices).
- The user is obliged to protect the login details to their XContest account against misuse by third parties.
4. Payments
- The application generates a QR code with pre-filled payment details (club account number, amount, variable symbol). The pilot sends the payment from their own bank independently and is responsible for its correctness.
- The variable symbol is key for automatic matching of the payment to your account. When entering payment manually (outside the QR code) it must be entered exactly.
- Overpayment (sending a higher amount) is automatically converted to credit balance within the same club.
- Underpayment, incorrect variable symbol, mismatched currency or payment after product deadline are handled individually by the club administrator. Some such payments will be converted to credit according to the rules described in the FAQ.
- Payment disputes are made by the pilot against the club that is the recipient of the payment. The operator is not a party to the payment relationship and does not handle disputes.
5. Credit balance
- Credit is created automatically from overpayments, rounding remainders or from payments that for technical reasons could not be assigned to a product (see FAQ).
- Credit is tied to a specific club — it cannot be transferred between clubs or between users.
- Credit is used exclusively to settle future launch fees within the same club and is not paid out in cash or to a bank account.
- Any extraordinary payment of unused credit is decided exclusively by the relevant club based on an individual agreement with the pilot. The operator does not act here.
6. Service availability
- The service is provided "as is" without warranty of continuous availability. The operator does not provide a guaranteed SLA.
- Scheduled maintenance and brief outages may be carried out without prior notice.
- The operator strives to operate the service reliably and will inform about any outages.
7. Liability
- The operator is not responsible for incorrect payments caused by the pilot (e.g. entering an incorrect variable symbol when making a manual payment, sending payment to a different account, incorrect amount).
- The operator is not responsible for outages or errors of external services on which operation depends (in particular XContest, FIO Bank, LAA ČR, Cloudflare, Neon).
- The operator's liability for any damages is limited in the extent permitted by applicable law.
8. Personal data protection
Rules for processing personal data are described in a separate document Personal data protection.
9. Changes to terms
The operator is entitled to update these terms. Users will be informed of significant changes by email or notification in the application. Continued use of the service after the effective date of changes constitutes your agreement with the new version of the terms.
Effective from: 30 April 2026
10. Governing law
These terms and the relationships they regulate are governed by the law of the Czech Republic. Any disputes will be resolved by the competent courts of the Czech Republic.
